Dag 7 Down Under // donderdag 14 februari 2013
14 februari 2013 - Melbourne, Australië
Things we learned:
° Melbourne City Center: The capital of state Victoria. Inhabitants of Melbourne are called Melburnians. It’s quite alternative, indie, cultural, experimental and… to be honest quite dirrrrty in comparison to Sydney.
° Melbourne fashion Part I: Mhmmm… misschien moeten we toch serieus overwegen onze dresscode aan te passen! Yupyup… transformeren in Rockabilly Glam Chicks én een tattoo zetten. Should we? Should we?
° 14 february 2013: VALENTINE’S DAY!!! <3 <3 <3 Valentine's all over Australia… them Aussies go completely NUTS!!! All the girls… and yes we mean ALL the girls had flowers in their hands! SMELT! SMELT! SMELT! And our sweet Valentines??? They are at home... alone... :(
° Locals versus spleetoogjes: 0 <> 1!
° But we looooooove the nerdy spleetoogjes: Uhu…
Who knew Australian life buoys are protected by a sound alarm?!
(video)
° UGGs: Sheepskin boots originating from Australia. Their name is a perfect description of their look… damn uuugggglyy! You can find them on every streetcorner!
° Lachlan: Melbournian and old friend of Valerie! Big party animal who took us to the most amazing rooftop bars: The Carlton (3 story high building with 3 different types of bars. The first one was amazing with real stuffed animals inside), The Hummingbird (quite a posh rooftop bar with the best cocktail named ‘The Espresso Martini’), The Berlin Bar (Dark first story high bar divided into two sections: East & West Berlin. East berlin was filled with bunkbeds, West berlin had a posh white interior!) But damn you stupid public transport, last tram to St Kilda at 1.15 am… Short but damn cool Melbourne nightlife impression!
° The Espresso Martini: Belvedere Vodka, Kahlua, white crème de cacao and cold espresso. According to Babs the best cocktail ever! Goodbye Cosmopolitan… and well hellloooo Espresso Martini!
